Kazakhstan is one of the world’s largest grain producers, with more than 16 million hectares under cultivation which in 2011 produced a record wheat crop of 22.7 million tons.

About 61% of Kazakhstan’s 76.5 million hectares of agricultural land is permanent pasture and about 32% is systematically cultivated for the production of row crops.  In addition to the 16 million hectares used for grain crops, about 9 million hectares are used for the production of sugar-beet, sunflower, flax, potatoes, cotton, vegetables and other agricultural crops.

Animal husbandry is a rapidly growing sector with a main meat production being beef, pork, mutton and chickens.  Unlike most of the other large agricultural producers, Kazakhstan is not a significant producer of agricultural machinery, consequently virtually all agricultural equipment and technology must be imported.

To meet the farmers who will be buying new agricultural equipment, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th annual AgriTek Astana 2013 exhibition being held from March 13-15, 2013.  For additional information relating to this event, including a 16 page Post Show Report and a video of the previous edition, please visit: AgriTek-Astana 2012 or simply reply to this message.
